What should I expect from a class?

What to bring to class?

The most important thing here is safety. Make sure your outer layers of clothing are non-synthetic. Cotton, wool, leather, all fine. Polyester is not safe. Where natural fibers may burn, synthetic melt and can cause pretty severe injuries. A set of safety glasses is also needed.

Close toed leather topped shoes are also required, however if you don’t have a pair, we do have a set of very silly looking boot covers to borrow, but we recommend grabbing a pair of inexpensive boots if you can.

We will be working outside, so bring a coat if you think you will be cold. We have some welding jackets to put over a coat if it’s synthetic.

We provide all the tools you’ll need for the class as well as all the metal. However, if you want to bring your favorite blacksmithing hammer, you are more than welcome to do so.
