What should I expect from a class?
What to bring to class?
The most important thing here is safety. Make sure your outer layers of clothing are non-synthetic. Cotton, wool, leather, all fine. Polyester is not safe. Where natural fibers may burn, synthetic melt and can cause pretty severe injuries. A set of safety glasses is also needed.
Close toed shoes are also required, however if you only have something like sneakers, you may get small bits of metal flakes melted into the synthetic fibers.
We will be working outside, so bring a coat if you think you will be cold. Please make sure the outer layer is a natural material or it'll be recommended to remove it when you're dealing with hot metal.
We provide all the tools you’ll need for the class as well as all the metal. However, if you want to bring your favorite blacksmithing hammer, you are more than welcome to do so.
